If a paramedic goes to a accident and the persons phone is ringing, are they aloud to answer it?

Like say Dr.Bob is going to a car accident and he gets the injured guy out and his cell phone is sitting in the cup holder ringing, is he aloud to answer it? What about if the person has a bunch of recent unread texts?
If they needed to find out who this person was, or couldnt find an ID would they be aloud to answer it? like within there job status, would they get in distress for looking through a persons phone to get identification?

I’m sure anyone could answer a ringing phone, but my estimate is a EMT on an emergency call has more vital things to do than answer someone’s cell phone. That’s why they invented voice mail.

they don’t place everything in the job description so no i don’t reckon it would state that they can check through someone’s phone but it wouldn’t say they were not allowed to do it either. i reckon when it comes down to it they are allowed to search through your stuff to find out who you are so looking through your phone to find your home digit would be ok. reading your text messages would be weird but it’s not like you could sue them for it.

A paramedic can use your cell to ID a person if there are no people (friends, relatives, etc.) around to help in the identification of an unconscious person. Same can be said for police officer, nurse, or any other emergency personnel assisting in emer. response.

Well, I would reckon that the EMT would be too busy to answer the phone. When it comes to rescuing an injured civilian it is about first priority. That means, the EMT must look at what their first priority is. If the phone is ringing, is that the EMT’s first priority? Doubtless not. The first thing is to get the civilian to the ambulance so that they can receive proper treatment in time. Answering a phone is not on the top list of priorities. When you are talking about an injured person you are talking about a life and death situation. If you waste time with a phone call, you might be by up that person’s time that could be used to save his/her life. So its best to take care of what is vital first. Now the EMT could answer that phone, but again how would that be helpful to the situation? Bottom line? Get the injured person to the hospital as soon as possible.

I am a paramedic, I would not go through someones phone for any reason. It is doubtful that I’d find identifying info about the person on the phone. Ideally, most people carry ID on them, so, i’d reach for their wallet first(always best to have police do this for you, or watch you do it) Also, I would not want to answer the phone as the person on the other end would want to know why a paramedic is answering the phone. It would not be officially authorized to provide them with info regarding the victim and would therefore make more problems and a lot of worry for them. can’t say that I would honestly have any desire to read a strangers text’s, they would have no meaning to me.

Adolfo Dominguez Purse:

5′ x 3′
serigraph

As part of a documenting project, I drew all the contents of my purse on a given day. All the objects were pinched at full extent. I wanted to try to know something about my personal identity through what I deem vital enough to carry around with me each day.

In this image you can see my car keys (the whole mess of keychains and a few keys), my extra batteries for my camera, my ipod and headphones trailing off, a note from a friend on the back of her passport picture written backwards, earrings from the promote in Barcelona, ponytail holders and some lip interpretation.

And also I’m looking for a cell phone or Zune holder that sticks to the windshield. Everyone I’ve had has fell off and stops sticking.
Yea don’t those run for like 200 dollars?

They do work, but not as excellent as one you really plug into you phone

Did MINI Build a HUMMER?
Although most print media outlets ignore the convention, MINI officially spells its name in all capital letters. It’s a cute contrivance from a company that could just as easily have called itself MICRO, given the tallness of its cars. But now it has one worthy of a small emphasis.
