Q&A: Buying a cell phone, from Amazon how much do you pay?

Amazon offers contract cell phones at crazy low prices, yet it says you pay for the phones over a monthly period. So when you buy the phone, do you pay the full retail price or the online price at the time? For example, if a phone is $ 10 on Amazon and has a monthly payment, but it’s $ 100 online, and $ 400 at full retail, which do you pay, the 100 or 400?

Something to look at on Amazon is the reviews of that seller. If the satisfaction for that seller is less than 92 or 95%, it’s not worth buying it.

I personally wouldn’t trust a cell phone on Amazon just because you don’t know exactly what you’re going to get. I’d trust one in a store a lot more.

I have bought several phones over the internet over the last several years and a couple through Amazon. They have some good deals. I got my last phone and I found the best deal for cell phones at www.dealjuggler.com

For AT&T deals, http://www.dealjuggler.com/at&t
For T-Mobile deals, http://www.dealjuggler.com/t-mobile
For Verizon deals, http://www.dealjuggler.com/verizon
For Sprint deals, http://www.dealjuggler.com/sprint

I believe the retailer is wirefly.com (very reliable, fast, and cheap). They have excellent customer service.

Hope the above was helpful,

Enjoy.

The prices are low because the service carriers make the most money with service plans, not the phones themselves. Most phone plans are about $ 29-$ 39 per month and you have to have the contract for 2 years. Thats $ 720 for them! Therefore, they can give you a great deal on a phone.

For example, the Samsung Eternity is just $ 0.01 but you have to sign up for an AT&T plan. You pay just $ 0.01 today, and you will receive a bill from AT&T for $ 39 (if you select the 450 Minutes Nationwide Plan). If you cancel, you have to pay a hefty penalty of $ 250.
