How much money can be made from opening a nice second hand (thrift) shop?
by quapan
Im 17 and starting to think what I want to do with my life. Ive always been good at selling stuff and I havent had to get a real job at all because of it. I buy stuff for cheap or sell things that I dont use on ebay or craigslist for a pretty good profit.
I kind of want to open up a thrift store or second hand store since that just sounds better haha. And sell electronics such as cell phones, computer stuff, game systems, car audio. as well as name brand clothing, shoes, etc.
I want my store to be kind of like a pawn shop (have a variety of different things) without actually having the option for customers to sell and get loans from me
I dont know if this is a good idea because of how bad the economy is but buying and reselling is something that I actually like to do and I know that there is a lot of money to be made..
So..anyone who actually has opened a store feel free to give me tips and advice
thanks

In this economy, most well develod pawn shops are going out of bussiness. I would recommend working for someone else to gain the experience needed to run a small business successfully

The Items I Carry
My submission to the "The Items We Carry" pool. This is what I have on me at most moments. I try to keep it pretty minimal. I think more often than not I carry my cell phone in my hand…I’m not a big fan of having stuff in my pockets.
So today at work (office building), a crew was there installing something for the building air conditioning system.
One of the guys was at the top of the stairs with a cell phone to his ear. He was standing probably 15 feet from the elevator door where a cute younger woman was waiting for the elevator.
Another woman walked by and happened to look at the guy and she saw him holding a second cell phone but pointed at the cute girl.
This second woman didn’t think much of it, then a minute later used the elevator herself. She pressed the button and waited a second, then spun around looked at the guy and right when she did that he dropped the hand with the second phone down to his side.
She told his supervisor what happened and he looked at her like she was crazy.
In any case, this pissed me off to say the least and I’m wondering if it is something I should let the police know about. I know they won’t be able to do a damn thing, but at least they’ll know.
Thoughts?

find out the company name and number then call the CEO if you have to.

Maybe I’m just being dense, but I don’t think I understand what you believe this guy was doing. You think he was taking pictures of cute girls getting on elevators? Where were the stairs in relation to the elevator?
Be that as it may, if you know his name and want to report him to the local police, I suppose you can. From what you describe he didn’t break any laws that I can imagine and you yourself have said you know the police can’t do anything (which makes me wonder what the point of reporting this would be).
If you don’t know his name, reporting it to the police is only going to waste your time and theirs. If, as you say, the police can’t do anything about this, they’re certainly not going to take the time to contact the employer to find out who it is.
I’m probably just not getting it, but I really don’t know what it is you want to report.

File a report. If no crime was committed, at least there will be a record.

“Upskirt” is a slang term usually referring to up skirt photography, images of the view up a woman’s skirt (as seen from underneath), including shots of a woman’s underwear, or exposing her vulva or buttocks.
Alternately, an “upskirt” may be a video, or an illustration. While these images may be captured consensually, many viewers seek upskirt images taken surreptitiously (and presumably without the subject’s consent). The creation and viewing of this type of upskirt are considered forms of voyeurism.
Many states are now enacting laws against this activity. You may wish to check your own state laws and act accordingly.
If you suspect this person is taking this type of photograph, I would suggest you call the building/office security personnel to report the suspicious activity!
Best wishes.

Yes, tell police he was on the phone and looking at girls.
They will definitely lock that pervert away!
