What are cell phone facts like in New York City? I’m moving and due to some complications the company that I work for desires me to change my digit to a local cell phone digit. Like what is the area code? For example, in Los Angeles the facts are (310) – XXX – XXX.

516 is the local area code for Nassau county on Long Island.
212 is the landline area code for Manhattan. It is a possible cell area code but very unlikely.
718 is the landline are code for Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Staten Island. Again it is possible for cell phone but very unlikely.
347 is a new area code for NYC it is used for both landline and cell phones.
914 is the most used for new cell phones in NYC.
You will most liable get a 914 or 347.
