Can I use cell phone headset for gaming?

Can I use cell phone headset for gaming?

I have a headset for my LG phone (its the earbud with the mic hanging down) and I wanted to know if it was possible to plug it into my computer and use it for gaming. Can someone help?

yes

yes, you can do this if the connector is the same size. your computer is normally standard with a 3.5mm connector or jack to put your earphones into. the earphones included with your lg phone may have a 2.5mm connector. if this is the case then you will need a connector converter that has one 2.5mm hole on one side and a 3.5mm prong on the other end. this will allow you to use those lg phone earphones with your computer.

alternatively you should consider getting some real powerful earphones that will help you feel the game and all the action it can deliver. in ear earphone with sound isolation are the best to consider. look around and find a pair that will meet your need. gadgetronx.com has a cool selection that sound good and are produced from high quality and the price is beyond reasonable for the earphone quality that they sell.

I don’t plan to live with a headset always in my ear but would like to use one when driving in my stick shift truck or when jotting down notes on by note pad. I plan on purchaseing one on ebay but I need direction on which one to buy and why. I guess I could go with the cheapest one but I don’t mind stepping up a bit to get additional quality and features. I am cheap and don’t want to spend a lot money but because of quality I will spend the extra.

I heard the huge amount of radiation those give off and the fact that you’re putting it in your ear gives you brain cancer/tumors

Trust me, dont go cheap. spend between 60 (min) to 100 for a decent one. Samsung makes really good ones but they’re really small. the problem with cheap ones is that the connectivity fails as soon as the battery is anything but full. even with the batt full some of them get full of static even if you have your phone on your hip. Motorolas are crap until you get into the 150 price range, then theyre good. The wep500 (samsung 89.99) just came out and it is pretty good. Jabra makes a decent headset but they are usually huge and dont do anything special. Try and stear clear from plantronics (wired headsets are awesome but thier bluetooths arent the greatest). Nokia also makes pretty small and efficient headsets. Good Luck
