I have tmobile and I want a phone from a different network. What networks would work with tmobile?

Im really tired of the phones tmobile have. So can I get a phone from like sprint? Would it work? I really want the lg rumor. And if it doesnt then what networks could I get a phone from other than tmobile.

To use a phone from another provider with your T-Mobile USA service, there are basically three things necessary in the phone:

1) uses 1900 MHz frequency (that’s used by North American phones so as long as you’re buying a US phone you’re covered)

2) GSM phone (that is, it takes SIM cards. Sprint doesn’t, as they’re a CDMA network. AT&T/Cingular is GSM.)

3) unlocked, which is to say, not locked for use on that other carrier’s network

The T-Mobile G2x offers a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, 4-inch WVGA display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording capabilities, front-facing camera, and Android 2.2. The iPhone sports a 3.5-inch Retina display, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing camera, and more. They’re both awesome devices, but only one can win the battle. Which one will it be?
