What are some good sales tips for selling cell phones and service?

I work for a smaller cell phone company and I don’t have a “salesperson personality”. Any tips on improving my sales would be greatly appreciated!

Do you work for a mobile phone shop or are you desk based? I am desk based for a large communication company. The main point is knowing your product, if you don’t know all there is to know about it you wont make a good sales person, You need the personality for selling or you cant improve – Be confident in what you are doing and it will work, there is four main points in office based sales – who you are, who the company is, what your product is and are they interested in buying it. Do not phone someone with a long speech because they will get bored and hang up, always be pleasant, when they ask are you selling something, say no I am updating my database and I would like to check that the information we have is correct and then when you get the info you can lead onto your current deals etc, you have nothing to loose except your job. Good Luck

There should be a Gloomy Bear comic or cartoon for animal rights activists to watch when they’re feeling down. Satisfying.

also is it bad to have the on next to u when u r sleepin?

Answer by Mark V
Well, if you actually turn them *off,* not just sleep mode or something, then yes, their cell signal goes quiet — which is why the airlines tell you to actually turn them *off.*

I wouldn’t set an active one next to me while I go to sleep, however it’s been shown (at least, last I heard) that you need massive doses of high-energy signal pressed right up against your skull to even begin to potentially cause problems.

But still… ionizing radiation is ionizing radiation as far as I’m concerned. I turn mine off. Who wants to have their phone ring while they’re sleeping, anyway?

Answer by Rusty Ranchero
Yes, cell phones do give out a teeny tiny bit of radiation, even when you turn them off. If you power the phone down completely, most modern phones today still use power for special reasons. The only way to truly “turn them off” is to take out the battery.

Define radiation, the light from a bulb is radiation.
A cell phone turned of emits no radiation other than reflected light.
An active cell phone emits electro-magnetic radiation (radio waves).
They DO NOT emit ionizing radiation – get real , no manufacturer is going to build a radioactive consumer gadget. No Alpha, no Beta and no Gamma radiation is involved.
