Can I use an unlocked cell phone with Verizon Wireless?

Can I use an unlocked cell phone with Verizon Wireless?

I currently have Verizon Wireless as my cell phone provider. I’m not due for a phone upgrade for another year, but my current phone is busted. I wanted to get an unlocked cell phone (they seem less expensive) and wondered if any of them will work with Verizon.

Yes it will work but you have to take the phone in to your service provider and have them give you a code to put in the phone to make it pick up the verizon sims card. If it was already a verizon phone…just put your sims card in the back of the phone and it should pick right up.

Sure! You can often buy them off of Ebay for a good price, just make sure it is a Verizon phone. Some phones are specific for some carriers, and most have some carrier’s logo on them, if a phone has a cingulair logo on it then verizon won’t turn it on, they’re pretty easy to find though. Good luck!

If the previous account was also Verizon wireless no problem. Otherwise they have to recode it . If that is possible with your particular brand.

I was treated like crap in the store and over the phone through customer service. My phone hasn’t worked for days I was supposed to receive a replacement but the rep never put the order through. Instead of sending me a new one I have to go through this process all over again when clearly they screwed up. This will be my 3rd replacement and they wouldn’t let me exchange it for a different phone. I spent over $ 400 on the phone a year ago and have had a horrible experience. I feel it is time someone needs to take responsibility especially when they advertise excellent customer service.

Misrepresentation/Breach of warranty or something like that is what you’re after. Find out which firms specialize in class actions and see if they’ll bite.

Of course not. Cell phone companies don’t care about customer satisfaction, all they care about is making more money. Consumer Reports did an issue on it last year, basically, they all sucked. No one is happy, the phones are rushed through development, unfortunately they aren’t tested well enough. I just ask for the phone with the most battery life now, I don’t need a camera, the internet, or much of that other stuff.

I use to work for a major cell phone provider. They stated that they provided “The best service ever and phone service like no other”. But with unhappy customers like yourself, I would suggest you check with a lawyer and see what they say to you. Cell phone providers, to be honest, do not care for what you think. You are only a number to them and as long as you pay for your phone and pay your bills, they don’t care for what you think. the worst thing with replacement phones are that they are reconditioned phones (most of the time) and not actual new phones, so the phone that you get could eventually be crappier than the one you have there now.

Like I said, check with a local law firm and see what they say to you before you proceed.
