CDMA Cell Phones & Activation

CDMA Cell Phones & Activation

I just bought a CDMA PalmOne Treo 650, Verizon branded.

I understand how to switch SIM cards for GSM phones, but how do I activate/use a CDMA phone?

The Treo turns on and all, but it isn’t connected to the network and I cannot make calls or text.

Do I have to go in to a Verizon store and get it started up and assigned a number?

CDMA phons dont use simcards unlike GSM phones so, to activate it for free go to your online VZW account and under the My Account section (or anything similar) do an ESN exchange from your previous phont to the new phone and it will get activated under your old phone number BUT if you’re having problems with that then call Verizon and they can do it for you but for a small fee.

What do you think? Answer below!

I wanted to get a Palm Treo 800w and i’m willing to buy the sprint version, but I was wondering if it will work for Verizon network.. Verizon and Sprint are two networks that use CDMA phones so maybe it works???

Yes it will work. Just make sure the Palm Treo 800w phone is unlocked.
