I’m with Sprint now and they seem to have the best priced plans but the worst smartphones.

I live on hills in a Los Angeles sub-urban neighborhood and I’ve used Sprint, Cingular, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Cingular and T-mobile had the worst reception. Calls get disconnected on average once each 20 minutes. Sprint has weak reception in my neighborhood but has clear calls and few disconnects. Sprint also have very excellent customer service. Verizon Wireless is the most expensive but by far the best in quality, tie, and reliability.

For students who want fad phones and low priced plans, I would recommend Cingular or T-Mobile. They also offer the best and trendest phones. Note that the trade-off is tie quality. I would recommend Verizon for grown-up adults who prefer the reliability.
