it would be best if she can find out the serial digit of the phone.. located under the battery… Although at this point your best luck is trying to find the paper work or give the company a call she uses and see if they can get a serial digit and then the police should be able to locate the cell phone with that digit IF it does have a GPS chip in it

Navizon (cellular navigation)

Unfortunatly this hasn’t worked for me yet… but it’s supposed to pinpoint you by triangulation from cell phone towers & routers.

Yep. Lost my cell phone over Spring Break when I went to Northern Michigan snowboarding. Can I somehow locate it and see if its still at the resort or if it was stolen somehow?

If you have a cell phone with GPS capability you can enable a service on your GPS to find it. I have a TomTom and I have used this before. But – you have to register your phone digit with the Navigation system – and it must be on!

You could call your provider and tell them they can turn the phone on and call it. Because alot of cell phones have a battery that when the provider uses the certain program it will cut the phone on with about 4% of battery left. But I’m not certain about the GPS when its dead.

i do not reckon you can use the GPS function to locate th e phone. Though you can question your phone company to block the phone so that a thief cannot se it easily.
Thephone company, by a different technique can track a phone in use , including stolen ones. Though, due to laws etc, they wont give you that information.

Cell phones are equipped with GPS E911 trackers in them. The E911 means Emergency 911. Therefore the tracking services are left up to 9-1-1. Since you lost your phone and are not in an emergency and have not dialed 9-1-1 from your phone, you will not be able to track it. Your wireless carrier does not keep a record of your house. They are vital to participate if an emergency arises and 9-1-1 needs to find you. Since you lost your phone, and your wireless carrier now knows you will have to spend money on a new phone, they will not be able to help you find your lost phone.
