Is it any freakin’ wonder that Michigan is gone bankrupt?

If you need a phone and can’t afford one, get a part-time job, question your family for help, question your friends for help, question your church for help – but don’t go asking for another government handout.

What? Free cell phones? Let me just say nothing is FREE….someone is paying for it…if you have a cell phone you should be the one paying for it…not someone else. If you are okay with someone paying for your stuff, then you are a very selfish human being and a drain on society. Cell phones are not something you have to have anyway, get a land line if you can’t afford a cell phone, it’s cheaper and all you need.

A phone in case he was attacked? It would just give someone a reason to attack him so they can take the phone. What is he going to say….wait let me call 911 first because they are taking the phone if they attack him.

There are NO free government cell phones. There are “lifeline” programs for low income individuals. If you already have a lifeline discount on a regular “hardline” home phone you would not quality for a cell phone program. Lifeline reduces monthly charges but isn’t free. Here’s an example: Monthly plot $ 30.63 subtract Universal Service Help lifeline plot quantity $ 10.13 The monthly payment for the service would be $ 20.50 plus state and federal taxes.

The federal “Lifeline” program was made during the Reagan Handing out. Lifeline is a federal program made by the Reagan era Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 1984. The program was enhanced under Telecommunications Act of 1996, which was supported on a broadly bipartisan basis in Congress. The FCC's Low Income Program of the Universal Service Fund, which is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), is designed to ensure that quality telecommunications services are available to low-income customers at just, reasonable, and affordable rates. Lifeline support reduces eligible low-income consumers’ monthly charges for basic telephone service.
