do all wireless cell phone companies require a data plan for smartphones and blackberys?

do all wireless cell phone companies require a data plan for smartphones and blackberys?

possibly because of the qwerty keyboard or the programs it has and the ability to store stuff on it?

Answer by Mike
No, thats why I like tmobile. They are the only company that doesnt require you to have a data plot for blackberrys. As far as the android and sidekick phones each company requires you to have a data plot.

Half of these people dont know what they are talking about. produce tmobile you DONT have to have a data plot. I know for a face because I have had a blackberry and didnt have to have a data plot.

Answer by Kelvin
Nope. What I do is I get the plot I want with a free phone and toss the free phone out or sell it. I then take the sim card and place it into an unlocked phone. This applies to all phones and smart phones as long as they are GSM.

Yes, each company requires you to buy a data plot with any blackberry or smartphone. There’s no way to get out of it. Some people say that if you buy it unlocked then you aren’t vital to pay for data but your company has the right to add a data plot on your account if they find out you’re doing this.

Yes, even T-Mobile. Some people are grandfathered into everywhere you didn’t have to before, but that changes when you change phones. But, why even consider having a smartphone without Internet. It makes it no better than any other phone and introduces a multitude of problems.

Opinions are not going to help you-you have to research the companies and equate prices and availability for your area. I do not know what state you are in or what service providers are available for you.
