how sniff works

"When you want to check their whereabouts, you simply text the word sniff, followed by the person’s name, to a special SMS short code, at a cost of 50p a message. You will then be sent a map link of their whereabouts that you can view on your mobile phone or computer."

I lost my cell phone. is there any way to find the location it is at?
Answer by lb_kj
only if you have like a childzone tracker on your phone which you would have had to sign up for when you got your service.
According to the lady I just got off the phone with at Verizon and the lady at AT&T the tech specialist there is no way for them to track the phone gps is for 911 to find you when you call 911 so if whomever has the phone calls 911 then you may be able to find it. So sorry Ramona you are the one who is Wrong Wrong Wrong. If your phone is off the Gps in it will not work for you at all anyway.
Answer by Robert
no unless your phone has a gps tracking chip in it which hardly any phones do. i know 2 phones but theyre from this very unknown company that no one uses. so no.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. Most cell phones today have GPS. If you didn’t disable yours or didn’t make it for 911 only you can have your provider track the phone. Also, you don’t say who your provider is but if it’s Verizon you can go online and see the last 3 months of numbers that the phone called. You can then call the ones that have come up since the phone was stolen/lost and ask who it was that called them. You then have a name. I’m guess it’s someone local and more than likely, someone you know. Heck, why not call the number yourself? First put in *67 then dial the number and when they answer just say “Who’s speaking please”. Ya never know, it might just work.
BTW every phone I’ve owned for the last 5 years has had GPS enabling.
