Family Plan Cell Phone with AT&T- How does that work?

Family Plan Cell Phone with AT&T- How does that work?

I’ve never had a Cell Phone Family Plan before. Now I need to add two family members in my Family Plan with AT&T. How does the Family Plan work? Are we sharing minutes?

Answer by Joe
Your plan is shared among those that are on it

Answer by hershey_kisses1983
yes the minutes are shared and i have been with At&t for 8 years and been on the family plan with three other family members for about seven of those 8 years and i have 850 shared minutes, unlimited family text, insurance and internet service on three phones and i pay $ 216 no more than $ 218 every month with four people on my plan. also the benefit of m2m which is talking to anyone with an at&t cell phone service saves you minutes because your minutes are not used Hopes this helps….

The Cell Phone Decision

Dad’s log, Stardate 0909.16. Bought Evan a cell phone today. On an actual plan, not a Go-Phone. Chose Verizon, despite the rest of the family being on AT&T, since his girlfriend is also on Verizon. Also reduced our land line to a plan that receives calls and makes local calls only. Thought I’d save money, but I’ll actually be paying more per month this way.

It might be worth the extra cash, since I’ll have access to Evan anytime.

Of course, I could be opening Pandora’s Box!

Let’s say I am on my dad’s plan as the family plan on my cell phone and my dad died or something which is a sad thought but it could happen. Who’s plan would I be under and in general, how would the billing company even know if the person who is supposed to pay their bills is deceased? Do people know if that person is still alive?

Answer by Alisha
You’ll have to pay his bill or contact the company and tell them that the person is deceased, most likely you would have to pay an outstanding balance.

From first hand experience I found out that privacy laws enacted in recent years allows access to accounts only by the person whose name the account is in. They usually will give no information to others or allow changes to be made.

They would only know of a death if they are notified and would require proof of death to make any account changes such as discontinuing or transferring the account to another name. If not notified the account would still be billed in the same account holder name.

The account holder does have the option to designate another person to have access to the account, but that person must also be listed in that manner on the account information wit the provider. Often a spouse is listed as having access to the account.

As long as the bill is being paid by someone the account should continue as previous.

Local businesses, landmarks plan to go dark for Earth Hour

Our idea is to match cellphone users with people who are looking to get into a family plan for the cellular bill. After doing research we noticed that family plans are popular among customers because they can reduce cellular bills dramatically. Our idea is to create a website where users can create a profile with information like current cellular company, the amount they are paying per month with their current provider, their needs and preferences, and how much their budget really is for this service. Our company will match each client with a group of people with similar interests and preferences. We will also ask customers to choose from a variety of plans, depending of how many minutes they use monthly and text messages ranging form 100 to unlimited. To ensure that clients make their payments, we will enroll users in automatic payments charged monthly to their cards with the assumption that as soon as they miss the first payment they are eliminated from the group.
