I REMEMBER IT FOR LESS
Answer by Elizabeth
I know car phones were very expensive.
The answer I found was $ 4200.00 USD, but I reckon that answer incorrect. I would have guessed more like $ 10,000 USD.
(I know that in Australia when car phones first came out they were worth more than my car at the time. They were very expensive.)
First cell phone – the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X.
“The brick” weighed 2 pounds, offered just a half-hour of talk time for every recharging and sold for $ 3,995 USD.

Rock – One for extent
This is the rock I drove over with my car. I place my cell phone there for extent.
After the driving over it the car idled oddly and shifted eerie. I was pretty certain that I had ruined the transmission.
But, I got off relatively simple. They needed to replace a transmission mount, some heat shields, and bend a cross-member back into shape. This rock cost me 0.
Are they for GPS or Cell phones? Or maybe Satellite radio? I thought they were mostly on the BMWs but honda now has them, Acura, newer GM cars. They are typically mounted to the rear and are the same color as the vehicle. I am looking for a something of the same but for satellite radio. Where can I find an after-market one that’s compatible?
Answer by M K
Yes, they are a combination antenna for a radio, phone, navigation, etc.
A excellent auto sound shop will have and install them.

There are several purposes for wedges on the rear roof.
Mostly they are used for navigation systems, satellite television, and internet.
Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evolution MR has several wedges on the rear of the roof that function as a vortex generator to keep the lightweight car stable at high speed.
If you plot to install one aftermarket for electronic purposes be forewarned, it is expensive to have them installed correctly
