Give me one reason why hands free devices shouldn't be mandated upon on-duty police contrasted to citizens?

Give me one reason why hands free devices shouldn't be mandated upon on-duty police contrasted to citizens?

In states where driving and cell phone usage is restricted, I’m looking for 1 opposing reason why they shouldn’t be held to the same standard of… if you want to use your phone, get a hands free device
Still looking for 1 reason…
I would never consider reporting them, that will get no where. I do often ponder why they don’t have to use hands free devices like the citizens have to in states where cell phone usage is restrictions. I suspect there is not 1 valid reason, it would cost a couple hundred bucks to implement.
Bill police also have personal cell phones, those radios only enforce the fact they shouldn’t be on the phone while driving.
Jay, truck drivers are professional drivers, maybe they should be immune from the law as well?
The question is simply, why shouldn’t cops have to use a hands free device like citizens. It’s not questioning whether or not they should use the phone while on duty or driving.
Answer 8: Cell phones play absolutely no role in the duties of a police officer, they have radios for communicating. Jee, I wonder how they did it before cell phones existed, all I’m saying is they should be forced to go hands-free like the laws they enforce.

Because the police are often called by the station with information that is critical to their job. There are no private citizens who need to talk on the phone while driving. They do it as a convenience.

Also police officers are professional drivers. Some drive 50 – 75K miles a year.

Have you considered writing down the number of the patrol car then calling the police station to complain?

For we are the government.

Your right…they should set the example. Check with the local and state laws and you’ll probably find the answer. Have you tried google yet?

I see Joe you have a pattern about what to complain about in this site. It has to do with you getting a ticket with cell phones stuck in your ear and knowing it is against the law now. So your in this site whining . LOL !!! This is all about Joe and his ticket for talking on the cell phone and he got caught. JOE< I gave my reason and it still stands. You are upset becauase you got caught and your angry. My point proved. JOE ! Answer this if you can, why are you so upset about the police and their use of cell phones since you saw it ? You may say no to this but i think you got busted for using one and you are upset. So you are in this site complaing and wanting sympathy from other complainers like yourself.

What do you think? Answer below!

how does the use of a bluetooth device for cell phone as a “hands free” compare to actually having the mobile phone right next to ones hear (which i know isn’t that good)?

Answer by sectumsempra
Mobile phones are bad for health, everybody knows that.As for the bt, someone will say it is,the others that it isn’t.If u ask me,i think that it doesn’t matter too much.If u’re already using a phone, use the bt too.

Answer by blaplanet
First, it is not definite that the cell phone itself is bad for your health if you use it next to your head. Some say it is, some say it isn’t. You decide.

Assuming it is bad, then the “badness” is largely a function of how much radio frequency energy is being generated. A phone generates quite a lot of energy to reach a base station maybe 20 miles away.

The Bluetooth device generates much less energy since it only has to reach the phone a few feet away. Most experts believe the energy is so low, it has absolutely no health effect.
