Dialing a cell phone in USA from South Africa. What is the prefix i put in ?

If I wanna dial a celphone number on my cellular phone from South Africa to USA what prefix do I put in ? How much would a text message or a phone call cost from South Africa to USA ? Please help. Only South Africans ok.
Anyone that knows can help. Please I dont know.
Does that include a + somewhere

I am not south african, but i have been in the phone business for over 5 years.001 for the US plus mobile code or area code before the mobile code. I will advise you contact the current operator you are using through their customer service for more help, on the sms. Good luck

The + sign represent the 00 on the country code

09 1 then the cell number without the 1st 0. Sms should cost about r1.75 on voadcom but call rates check with your service provider. the + refers to the 09 part of the number so if the cell number is 0555 5555 you’d dial 09 1 555 5555. but if you both have pc’s i suggest you download skype for free calls

The Samsung R430 would be a great starter phone for a teen, also the LG 260 which has a slide out full qwerty keyboard and able to text on the front also. Cellular South now has the “text and talk plan” which includes 200 minutes of talk with unlimited mobile to mobile to Cellular South customers and unlimited text messaging!
