How do you get a cell phone unlocked?

My boyfriend has a verison blackberry but we want to switch him to att. Does anyone no how we can get the blackberry unlocked so that we can use it as an att phone?

AT&T and Verizon are completely different.

Verizon uses CDMA technology. AT&T uses GSM technology. AT&T uses sim cards, Verizon does not. You’re better off switching him to a carrier that has CDMA technology like Verizon, or just buy a new phone for AT&T.

i’m a business traveler and travel to a lot of foreign countries , in my experience unlock codes
are the very best method to unlock Blackberry phone , i used unlock codes procured from http://www.prounlocking.com/
to unlock my phones and it worked wonderfully well , but Verizon is a CDMA phone it wont be compatible with AT&T which is a GSM technology

It depends entirely where you got it from. The actual phone is a dual-band 900/1800 GSM phone, so it should work in the Philippines. But, unless you bought it as an “unlocked” phone it’s probably locked to a carrier. With AT&T, I know you can unlock the phone after 3 months, and T-Mobile is often even more lenient. Just call them and they’ll give you the code you need.
