international calling to uk cell phone from usa cell phone?

I make a lot of calls to uk cell phone, I know the rates are much higher compared to landline, does anyone know of good quality calling cards or plans that don’t cost as much? What’s the best way to go?

Check with your cellphone service provider to see if they have an international discount plan. Most providers offer greatly discounted international calls for a small monthly charge.

I got a cell phone from another country.
and I never use it at all. I am a cell phone collector.
and I would like to use this cell phone in the usa.
but I went to the sprint store they said I can’t use it because of it’s not a sprint cell phone.

It actually depends from which country you got it from. If you got it from Europe or Asia, it would typically be a GSM phone. In which case, you can just remove the SIM card from the phone and plug in a SIM card from AT&T or T-Mobile, which are the major GSM carriers. However, some carriers in other countries lock the cellphones so that only their SIM can work on it. If that’s the case, you won’t be able to use it with another SIM card unless you find some phone unlocking service/software.

If you got the phone from Japan, it will not work, since they have their own standard. If you got it from Korea, it would be a CDMA phone, but unless Sprint/Verizon actually register it into their network, you won’t be able to use it.
