Yes, unless you go onto ebay and bought an unlocked phone, or find a cellphone store that has unlocking service.

I usually go on ebay and buy groundbreaking new or open box phones that came from a T-Mobile cellular store for half the price and stick my SIM in there and use them.

If you want an unlocked phone it is best to look for phones that are unbranded and came from the manufacturer.

PHONES OTHER THAN T-MOBILE MUST BE UNLOCKED.

You can buy Unlocked Phones online that will work but it has to be a GSM device/take a SIM card.
