What do you think about cell phones in school?

What do you think about cell phones in school?

I’m writing an essay and I want to know what y’all reckon: Should we be allowed to have cell phones in school or not? My essay is due tomorrow, but I’ll check back anyway, so yeah. THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING!!

Well, if all public were like me, the answer would be yes, we should. But, lots of kids my age are careless so at my ancient school, we always heard it ring during class which was annoying. I always turn my phone off during school and at my school now, we’re not allowed to have cell phones in our pockets during school. Even my elementary school, when I was in 5th grade a teacher got mad at me for using my phone when school hadn’t even STARTED (like 10 min before class would start) but she said phones ONLY after school which is not very reasonable (to me, at least).

We would need cell phones in school because what if a murderer was at school and we didn’t have phones to know if the murderer was gone/call our parents to take us from school after the murderer was gone? Or what if we needed to be picked up because of a power outage, and we needed to call our parents but we couldn’t?

Cell phones are a part of our world now and we can’t really ban them from schools anymore. When I was in high school they were just taking off and they were not allowed in school, but it’s really impractical to do that anymore. Kids need to learn cell phone etiquette though, such as turning the phone off and keeping it out of sight during class.

My school allows cell phones and iPods as long as they’re not distracting others. (Like you can’t call during class and it needs to be on silent.) Its not a conundrum. I like it, your not concerned with trying to hide your phone, its really less distracting. And I reckon listening to music while working on school works helps me stay on track because I can’t really talk to anyone else while having music blasting in my ears. Idk, just my thoughts..

What do you reckon? Answer below!

The topic of the article is “Electronics in School”. The article mostly focuses on cell phones but it will also include thoughts on ipod, mp3 players and cameras.

Dang, wish my school had these kind of opportunities. :(

I reckon that you should do some research. I know that it’s proven that public who listen to music while studying do worse than persons who don’t, maybe you may maybe do something with that with anything about iPods and such?

As for cell phones, I reckon that you should do some research about any facts about cell phones in school. Obviously don’t add your opinion to the article unless it’s an editorial, but you might want to question several students, a couple teachers, and maybe some parents what they reckon about cell phones in school, do your own small survey.

As for cameras, I’m not sure that there’s much you can do with that. Um, what is there to write about them? At least at my school, we don’t have a conundrum with cameras. Public bring them for games and the end of the school year, but additional than that I don’t know of any problems with cameras. You’re on your own for that one.

I hope I’ve helped. (:

I reckon they should be allowed on breaks ,they should be turned off in the classroom , same as Ipod ,common sense that’s all that’s needed ,use them before and after school and on breaks not in class.

Answer by Bethenny
I reckon cell phones in school should be turned off during class, no chit chat, messages or texting should be allowed! Students need to be focused on their studies.
