Can an AT&T SIM card be used in a T-Mobile cell phone?

My friend busted her Blackberry and needs to use my phone for the rest of the week until her sister gets a new one so she can have her ancient one. But my phone is a T-Mobile phone. Can my friend still use the SIM with my cell?

Answer by spiderear
If your T-Mobile phone is unlocked for additional type of SIM, it should work for making a call. If it’s locked, you can call T-Mobile to help you get the SIM unlocked code. If T-Mobile can’t help you because of the model of the phone you have, then you might have to call the manufacturer.
