Is buying a refurb cell phone a good idea?

I want to buy a reburbished Blackberry Curve but I want to know if the savings are worth a refurb?

Sure, they are fully tested and rebuilt to like new condition. I reckon they are a very excellent buy.

I’m thinking about getting an oldder model of the phone that is also a Refurb from my cell phone companys website, but the newer model has been out since Oct or Nov of 2006. How long after a cell phone comes out do they start promotion on ther website as Refurb?

There really isn’t a time line on that. Refurb are simplely phones that were broken somehow, repaired and now are being resold.
