How do you unlock a cell phone?

I want to unlock an AT&T cell phone to make it a Pay as you Go Plot (Go Phone). What can I do besides export an unlocked phone?

You can call AT&T and question for the Unlock code..If they says within the Contract Period end Not Possible to unlock means,You can better get the Unlock code from the Online Unlock code promotion site and Unlock the mobile…In here

how my phone sees me

i’ve been quite proud of the fact that i’ve used the same cell phone for 3 being. but due to carrier-locking, i’m finally switching to a new phone and now my impeccably-excellent ancient phone is just a piece of hazardous waste. my new phone is a nokia n76. it’s nokia’s razr-like phone. i got a nokia because my 3-year phone was a nokia, and i’ve never had a cell phone last that long! i bought an unlocked phone this time, and went to get a digit for it, and some minutes. i can switch carriers any time i want. i really can’t commence to describe how incredible this phone is. i don’t know how they fit all those features into such a small thing. it’s truly fantastic, but i truly feel terrible for those engineers whose job it was to emsmallen everything so damn much. it even has speakers that signal really damn excellent. and i can place songs and pictures and stuff on it, and take pictures and things off of it, (by linux even!) by simply plugging in the phone and mounting it as mass storage. the mp3s can be used as ringtones and pictures can be used as wallpaper without any special tricks. never buy ringtones or wallpapers for your phone–they are a scam. there is absolutely no reason you shouldn’t be able to place song and picture files on your phone and have them just be able to work as ringtones and wallpapers. the only reason they try to sell them to you is because they can. thanks nokia for another winner. i’ll lavish more praise on you if it’s still going strong in 3 being!

bring up to date 20091119: the OS is annoying, the buttons are hard to hit correctly, and the chrome scratches off and looks terrible. but the phone is still going strong!

I have a T-Moble Samsung phone that went through the washing machine and is dead. T-moble desires $ 150 to replace it. I know that if i buy an unlocked phone from amazon or cellhut all I have to do is take the simm card out of the ancient one and it will work? Is that right? Or do I have to go to t-moble and have them configure it.?????

Well if you have another T-Mobile cell phone then you don’t have to have it unlocked. You can buy them second hand and in excellent condition. Then all you do is take your sim card in your ancient phone, stick it into the new phone and call T-Mobile and tell them that you have an account already with them but want to change over to a different phone once you get that phone.

The only reason people get cell phones unlocked is because they want to use them with a different network. Let’s say you have a Cingular sim card and want to place it in a T-Mobile phone then you’ll have to get that phone unlocked at an off the wall phone store for $ 30 and up.

Bottom line, you don’t have to have a T-Mobile cell phone unlocked if you are by your ancient T-Mobile sim card since it’s the same network.

A phone company takes the make model and serial digit, then uses an numerical code to unlock phone. I called T Mobile for you, I have T Mobile as well. They say you can take your phone to one of their stores and possibly just have to change out the battery. They can check your sim card to see if it is still working and excellent, Sounds excellent to me, bets having to pay $ 150.00. To let you in on a small secret, if you don’t have this program with T Mobile as yet. Get their 3000 any time minutes program it cost $ 56.00 per month, this includes tax. If you go over you minutes on other orograms you will pay a lot more in rooming charges .
