Are Prepaid Cell phone plans really better than monthly plans?

Are Prepaid Cell phone plans really better than monthly plans?

I have a prepaid cell phone and sometimes I feel like I’m getting cheated out of money and that a monthly plot would be better but though, Prepaid cell phones can be cheaper in some instances.

Answer by CapricornPrincess973
Well, it depends how much you use it. I had a prepaid, but if I got a plot I would save alot more, because, I used over 300 minutes and that would cost alot to buy in those cards you use to refill them so I went with a plot with and saved alot.

it depends on the phone

tracfones are really expensive, but the texts are super cheap

my alltel prepaid is expensive for texts, but pretty cheap for calls

but it helps when you’re low on cash and can’t always pay a monthly bill

it depends on how much time you use the phone.. if you are always in the phone, stick to the monthly plot.. but if not, prepaid is ok, because you can limit how you use your phone, and use card when you only need to.. prepaid phone is more cheapear though…

It all depends how much you use it. If you are spending more than $ 40 a month on refill cards, then you would be better off getting a contract phone. Most of the major carriers have plans that start at $ 40 a month for 450 minutes or so.

Are prepaid mobile phone facts portable to other mobile plans and/or traditional phone shape or VOIP?

Basically, can I signup for a prepaid plot from ATT/Cingular, T-mobile, Verizon/Alltel to use the phone digit in anticipation of I get an office line setup, and then transfer that digit to a permanent land line?

Answer by Mr. VoIP
It is liable that you can port the digit.

The key to digit porting is to contact the new service provider and find out if they can port facts from the phone exchange your want to port your digit from.

With digit porting, you always have to have an active paid-up account with the digit you want to port. Contact the new service provider and start the poring process with them. Once the digit is ported, then cancel the ancient service.

Do not cancel the ancient service before completing the digit porting process. If you do, it cannot be ported once your account with the ancient service is expired.
