When you buy a phone on ebay, like a razor for example. Do you still have to go to your cell phone provider to get it activated or can you just place in the sim card from the phone you already have?

if you have a sim card then you have to stick with a phone that is gsm. this means you can not buy a verizon or sprint razor and use it with your carrier.

also you have to make sure that the phone is unlocked or stolen. if they are when you snap in your sim card they will not activate. sometimes the ebay transactions are worth it…other times they are more distress and your better off export new.

You have to buy the cell phone that is formatted for whatever cell phone company you plot to go through. Because it’s the same phone company you can just switch your sim card over. It is way to complicated of a task if the cell phone is formatted for a different company.
