How do I stop a cell phone company from charging us fees after we cancelled a contract?

We were going to sign up for a cell phone plot. A sales person told us we could try it first and had a month to come back and return the phones and cancell at no cost to us. We chose not to get this plot and returned our cell phones and cancelled the next day. A month later we received a bill with a monthly fee charge. We called the company and said that we cancelled. They appologized, and said we had to go to the store again to cancell it, because it didn’t work the first time for some reason. We did that (and had to pay some small fee) and cancelled it AGAIN! They told us we are no longer going to receive these bills and everything is taking care of. A moth later we got another bill!
What should we do? Is there anyone higher than a call center rep that we can possibly try reaching and talking to about this ongoing conundrum? It is a huge well-respected phone company but after dealing with them I would never recommend it to anyone.

take them to court

When you call the cell phone company, tell the operator immediately that you need to talk to a supervisor or someone who has the authority to make immediate changes to your account. This person can go into the computer and take care of the matter while you are on the phone. Make sure to get his/her name and call back digit along with an e-mail confirmation.

This happened to my son, and it wasn’t in anticipation of he got past the operator that it was taken care of.

the store cannot schedule the termination, usually…though you should still have to pay for that one day of service you had the unit for, but it was the store’s responsiblilty to take care of this and i would personally recomend speaking to a supervisor in the cancellaion dept, and threaten a complaint, you are not at fault and this is the companies conundrum to fix, not the person at the store, their called dealers and their only trained to sell the equipment, though they should have some sort of paperwork for you in association to you returning the equipment, worse case senario, speak to administrator at store get them to have an understanding then if the agent/supervisor for the cancellation dept, desires confirmation on returned equipment and the details to confirm your proclamation they can contact the store administrator of everywhere you bought the equipment. i can tell you though the people at the store won’t be able to do much so do not settle for agents on the phone reffering you back to point of sale, if they do, mention that you have been on again off again working with them for sevral weeks on this situation and that you KNOW it is their duty to sell the phones and set up the accounts…nothing more! i also want to state that the agents on the phone are doubtless more competent of doing this than supervisors only becuase usually sup’s were agents once but haven’t been on the foor in a long time and have gotten rusty. the reason they are still billing you is becuase the termination was not processed and they are now just adding the icing on the cake( so to say). bottom line, termination was requested within trail time you will be more than pleased to pay for the exact days of service used (1) at a per day value of one day of service amounts to an nothing more, they simply need to comply with the termination and adjust the rest accrodingly to due error on their part.

What do you reckon? Answer below!

Time to get some new Cells and a new Contract!

Sales person wanted us to get the newest or most pricey, they preferred SAMSUNG. I was plotting to get an LG if possible. I needed to consider my mother. But we’re getting three phones.

Anyone have experience with the Samsung Seek? The sales person wanted us to get Seek or Remarq of the cheaper range of phones. I had to consider my mom will need something a small in the style of a phone. She doesn’t need Mega text but not the smallest text.

So I’m like.. Okay, fine.. she desires the pink Seek because it’s pink and cute. Possibly it will be simple to know.

So does anyone know if the Seek is any excellent? Have any recommendations [Sprint :/]

We can change the phones/orders. I’ve been thinking,.. ” Why did I just go with what everyone else was getting?” I can get any model. At the moment I was just thinking ” I must teach my mom for this new phone”. Is the LG Rumor Touch any excellent? That’s the only LG the Sales person wanted us to reckon about ( that’s cheap.. of course Blackberries would be their preference for us).

The phones she most wanted us to get was the Remarq or the Blackberries.

Oh and the Lady was saying things like the Seek had 32 gigs built in, but I read otherwise.

If you need help..

Phone 1: Talkative. Usually discussion to other Sprint Customers or after 7 ( more like 11 pm – 3 am). Can talk for two hours. Cannot admit to all of this and Sprint Supports her because the Any Time Minutes are only about 30 ( since most talk is free). Doubtless sends or receives a combo of 5-10 text a month ( cannot admit to this).

Phone 2: Clutzy. Has friends and family that want to Text them for a few months of the year ( cannot admit that they want to text those months while not in those months but does within those months *rolls eyes*). Uses phone daily for work ( after 7 pm) and they’d like to be able to text to make sure some things are accurate. [ Should catch on quick they need need discount prepaid texting].

Phone 3: My phone was taken over, so I haven’t been able to use a phone. I’d like to have text to make things accurate and possibly a camera. Do any Sprint phones link to Y!M? That’s mostly how I communicate right now. I’d like a Qwerty, Phone 2 needs a Qwerty,.. Phone 1 would have no conundrum with not having a Qwerty.. but that would help possibly one day out of the month ( we could use one of the other phones if she needed to answer in text, she prefers to talk).

Thanks for your personal experience!
We don’t have any children.
We don’t care about weight.
Most of the phones will be free anyways.

Thanks for the info on Weight and Camera.

I really wouldn’t mind if we had different chargers since everyone desires to charge at the same time. But I’m sure they will all come with chargers.

I’m a small worried right now that my mom may not be able to dial phone facts well without an obvious Key Pad. Some times it sounds like the screen can be a Key Pad, but I am not sure what is right and what is fake since I am reading alot of conflict. Especially with the sales person saying the phones had 32 gigs in them, then the site says it’s an optional chip which suggest the phones do not now have 32 gigs. There were many things like that that left me confused.

I also wonder about Y!M on the Cell Phones because all the Cell Phone companies seem so unsure of which models do have it, which misprinted and if you pay anything or not to use Y!M on your phone.

LG is a Heavy Phone compared to the Seek.
My Girls like the Seek -
My Son likes the LG Touch.

Both phones are a bit complicated… but simple to learn for a person like you.
I reckon Both are Free if you use a company like http://www.CheapCellphones.Com or Wirefly.Com.

Stick with Seek with Your Family and get a different color for each person.
Nice Smooth Slide Out Keyboard + Touch Screen…. Nice Camera as well.
That way you can share chargers, batteries cases etc.
