Does using cheap cell phone car chargers (from Wal-Mart for example) ruin or shorten the life of the battery?
When I just bought my Droid 2 cell phone, I was told that it is highly recommended that I buy the Verizon car charger because the cheap ones from Wal-mart work on fuses and shorten the life of the cell phone batteries. Is this right or was that just a way to convince me to buy theirs instead of someone elses?

They’re not above lying to sell shit. For example, GSM carriers will tell you you can’t buy a prepaid phone, remove the SIM, and place your subscription SIM in it, when, in fact, you can. Accessories are huge commission, for the people in the coporate stores, also.
I reckon you’ll need to look up reviews of specific chargers, though, to find the inexpensive ones that’re safe to use.

I am just wondering if it’s terrible for the car battery or if it will produce problems for the vehicle to leave the cell phone charger always plugged in.
Thanks!
