Q&A: How does technology influence social behavior?

Q&A: How does technology influence social behavior?

Hey friends,

I am writing a college paper on “How Technology Affects Social Behavior”. I am wondering if you may maybe share some thoughts on how technology influences your social life, or doesn’t, which ever applies. If you may maybe, be as detailed as possible. It would help me out a lot.

Specific questions I have are:

Do you feel the rapid progress of technology is helping our world? Why or why not?

Do you reckon having a automated world makes humans obsolete in the workplace? Are there jobs that you may maybe be doing that a computer is doing instead?

Should the government limit the use of machines in the workplace to increase the amount of jobs available for humans? Do you reckon this would help the economy by as long as more jobs, or would it only increase the production costs and increase the selling price for manufactured goods?

Should employers spy on the employees’ personal lives by looking up its their MySpace or Facebook page, or keep tabs on them outside of work by using technology? Clarify why you reckon it is a excellent or terrible thought.

In response to the previous question regarding employers using MySpace/Facebook, should there be laws passed which particularly prohibit the use of these tools to monitor employees outside of a work environment?

Does the use of social networking sites, chat rooms and instant messenger programs (and even cell phones) take away from a teens ability to mix with public in the real world?

Do you judge the internet use policy prohibiting use by public under the age of 13 is effective, and should it be relaxed or should the age restriction increase? By this question, I mean the use of internet forums and chat rooms and additional sites that question the user to acknowledge they are at least 13 years ancient.

Should sites such as MySpace be responsible for the content posted by its users in the event something should happen, such as a teen life abducted after posting their street address for the public to see? Why or why not? Would this really prevent these issues from occurring, or would it simply place blame in the incorrect place?

If you can answer any or all of these questions, it would be greatly appreciated. I want to see what the public thinks so I can incorporate this into my paper along with my research from professional sources. Feel free to add anything extra you feel is vital, as there are probably additional issues that I missed.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. If you have further information or wish to discuss thoughts on this further, please see my profile and send me an email.

You’ve answered Your own Question!
Doesn’t insult additional public’s intelligence by running a poll!

Well there are pros, and there are cons.
Reckon about all the medical techincal advancements. Public don’t die as simple, cancer is apt nearly cureable, things like that. Excellent stuff.
But, on the additional hand we’re also apt more and more artifical, reckon about lyposuction, plastic surgery, all that. Too many public reckon they need to slice n’ dice to be attractive. I’d say, 8/10 celebs have had some form of cosmetic surgery done.

Reckon about how you’re doing THIS. 20 years ago you couldn’t just pose a question on the internet. You couldn’t look up facts, find books, go on ebay do Anything as easily. How did you find college admissions information? How did you pick your classes? How do you talk to your friends? Myspace, Yahoo, MSN, AIM, Twitter, Facebook? Text Message? Email?

The downside. Public (I’m result this even in my high school) can’t communicate. Face to Face is much, much too hard. It’s much simpler to email a teacher about a hard situation. It’s simpler to text to question someone out. Teenagers are just socially inept. When I go out with a group of friends, there’s always someone texting, no matter what, even during movies. It’s getting rediculous. But I can’t say I’m any better- when I need to question my parents for things, I usually email my dad at work, instead of dealing with the face to face guilt business.
And reckon about, public on myspace/facebook/instant messenger add you, that you know, from classes or they’re your neighbor or w/e but as you see more and more of their information posted on the internet you get a weirder view of them. They seem silent, polite and nice in class, and then you see their mad ranting FB posts, or their drunken saturday night pictures popup on myspace. It’s sometimes too much. I don’t really know these public, but yet I’m result for myself knowing Way, Way, Way too much information.

As far as the age business goes- No, I don’t reckon it should be relaxed. I knew way too many public getting themselves into distress on Myspace when we were young, 13, maybe younger. I reckon it really should be inforced! Kids are already living in an Effed up world, if there’s any way to shelter them, just a small bit, we should do it.

Myspace shouldn’t be responsible. You should know that when you post a picture, a message, anything on the interent- there really is no way to get rid of it. Reckon about when you post something on myspace and 200 of your friends see it. They saw it, they know about it. They can grab your pictures and pass them on, and soon you lose your job cause your boss saw you naked. Teenagers especailly don’t know this thought! Like the micheal phelps inceident-Whoops.

One last business-
when you meet someone new you know nearly everything about them, very very quickly, from texting them, from FB, from myspace, it’s nearly silly to date anyone, what else can you find out? All thats left is the really terrible icky stuff. Hell, I’m frightened of my friends sometimes. I really, really don’t wanna know.

What do you reckon? Answer below!

"dammit, my bread went stale"
backs turned, your name, spin around, hey there
there is a face i know, at last
and in the sundown, less than twelve hours after coming here
i run into stewart campbell out of millions in this city
what luck, one of the public i want to see very much in this place
oh my gosh, maureen, i thought you were in africa
yeah i was, i just got in this morning
oh damn, what time
like, ten hours ago
shit, you booked it to the guggenheim then haha
yeah haha it’s free night so you know… and i read about jenny holzer’s business here tonight
yeah, yeah, i can’t wait to talk about it with you
i couldn’t help but reckon that no matter how ancient you get your face is always going to look sort of young
there was an art exhibit where there was a bed in the museum and you may maybe rent a night to spend in the bed like in a hotel
sleeping in the guggenheim
i felt nearly positive that the public spending the night in it, if there were two public, would feel very pressured to have sex in this bed with a black blanket on it
because when else may maybe you have sex like that in the guggenheim
this was all i may maybe reckon about
and maybe it was all the public staying in that bed every night may maybe reckon about
this felt dumb
this was probably the intent of the "artist" or whaterrer
i told you about the zimbabwean woman on the plane who sat near me and didn’t seem to sleep the entire flight
for nearly an entire day
she told me about her son and some additional stuff
like that it was her first time to america
and she has been trying to go to this country for twenty years to see her son
but robert mugabe is an asshole
yes you can say that again
robert mugabe is still an asshole
everything here really does seem perfect and pleased and smiling and warm and healthy but i know it isn’t and thought about music
i watched her eat airplane food
she told me about her husband dying very briefly
i didn’t tell her anything
i am worried to an extreme extent about alienating public i have not seen in a long time, especially my close friends
about not meeting their expectations and delivering the exact characteristics they have idealized in relation to how they remember me
in how they will expect me to be, and how they remember me life
not that i’m really different
i am very worried of this
and still, feeling indifferent about them not meeting my expectations because, uh,
it just wouldn’t bother me and i would exchange
i am semi paranoid about this and have distress not thinking about this
i offered you my extra malaria medication but who wants persons dreams, really
they start out excellent for a few days and then they turn on you, incredibly
the clothes were washed in a washing machine
and then dryed in a drying machine
i drank a drink from a machine
swiped a plastic card in a machine
public talk on their cell phones in the street and out in the open, in public
there were no large guns strapped to the bodies of muscular men
i saw a cop with a stick on his belt instead of an assault rifle
there were also very many cats asleep inside of your dormitory which i thought was nice
that was a cool business
today was the first day i did not see a gun in a long time
i know that this reality was plotted by a government official
new york feels tame

Did you know that the government is conviscating all phone records cell/home from all the carriers…and has the right to listen to any conversation made or received…what happened to our amendments???? This is just one right taken away from us ….like free speach…..yet we invade additional countries…One by one, all our rights are life taken away and soon we will have none…dou you or do you not agree?.EVERYONE PLEASR RESPOND!!!
some public reckon we are free…. well as we all should know according to Lincoln, that is, aferican americans ALL should live in the swamps!!!! What type of deal is that? Is that freedom????

Answer by Spirited

Answer by i lie
if the us is free why it cost me so much to live here

Answer by wearenotalone20
its nothing knew, they’ve been intelligence work on us. Public wouldn’t judge it then, well look now, it turns out to be right…

Answer by jdc6733
No it is not. And most public still reckon this is a democracy when it is a representtive republic. Try invoking your rights (the ones you reckon you have), when dealing with the IRS. Then you will learn what America is about. It is called “money”.

Answer by Exanthem
Freedom can never exist. It’s impossible because the moment somebody tells a group of public that they “have to” do something somebody will aver that it’s violating their freedom.
