Can I charge my HTC fuze cell phone without the battery being dead? Will it effect my battery life at all?
If there is the slightest odds that it may maybe mess up then I’m not going to do it because I just got it today.
Thank you.

You’re concerned with an effect called “memory” where if you start charging the battery before it’s dead, then only the part that’s been recharged most recently will be useful.
Excellent news, that’s only a conundrum with mostly cheaper and older technologies. Your phone uses a Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) Battery. Li-Ion batteries don’t suffer from the memory effect, but like all batteries they do wear out with time and use.
With all Smartphones today (just like Notebook computers), they use a Li-Ion battery. A lot of cheaper “dumb” phones tend to use Ni-Cad (Nickle Cadmium), and a very rare few will also use NiMH (Nickle Metal Hydride) which is much better environmentally but a bit more expensive than Ni-Cad. The reasoning is that the more expensive smartphones tend to also use more energy to function and need more frequent recharging (also connecting them to computers which typically recharge them by default) while the cheaper “dumb” phones usually use very small and owners often place them for days at a time without going near a charger.

The newer phones are supposed to be for high speed internet.. So what the companies (like verizon) do is make a really nice phone that everyone wants, then makes some exceptionally expensive data plot to go with it.
Hope this helps!
