Pre-Payed Cell Phones - - A comparison?

Pre-Payed Cell Phones - - A comparison?

My young son and I are going on a road trip from Northern California to New Mexico for three weeks. I’m looking into getting a pre-payed cell phone both in case of emergency as well as to book hotels while on the road. I don’t own a cell phone at home because they seemed to intricate and bothersome with the constant battery recharging, reception limitations, unpredictable payments, etc. Now I might want to give a pre-payed phone, or “temporary” cell phone a try. Do you have any recommendations for me? Something simple to use and with excellent reception along CA hwy 5 and AZ/NM hwy 40 on up to Taos?
Many Thanks for your help!

Trac-phone is probably your best bet for a quick and simple use. You can pick one up at most retail outlets for $ 20.00 and then just buy a small card. The phone keeps track of how much time you have left and when your done if you ditch it you will only be out the 20 bucks.

try some excellent quality phones from nokia, as for pre-paid go with t-mobile don’t use tracfone

You might want to try T-mobile, but be careful cause minutes go nearer than what you reckon if you are a talker. It might be better to go in a store to pucrchase the phone because the website is a bit higher than in a store…such as Walmart.

What’s in Your Bag 16-03-2007
Taken nearly a year later a new picture of my bag contents (not built-in my trusty camera).
In comparison with a year ago i carry less junk.
I still have the same cell-phones (I despise cell-phones…)
I still have my trusty MP3 Player even if i carry a different game console.
My always accompanying book is not built-in because it does not fit my current bag.
