Cell Phone Needed: These are my priorities?

I’d like a new cell phone that can hold a large phone book (300+) and ideally can interface with Outlook. Further, I want long battery life, both 110v and car chargers, and all-US network coverage without out-of-area service charges. With 500 anytime minutes and boundless after 7, and rollover, I’d be pleased. Note: I don’t need or want a camera, don’t need texting, don’t want lots of bells and whistles — just rugged functionality for about $ 50 a month. Can someone suggest a package? I’ve been with Sprint PCS since 1999 and currently have a Samsung 4920, which has excellent reception, a weak remote earpiece, fantastic battery life, 300 phone book entries (but no way to get info in or out except keying — the programs I’ve already bought don’t work), and a rugged design. It is getting ancient (3 years) and I worry about reliability, plus I’d like to be able to back up the phone book.

The only place that i know of that offers rollover is Cingular. It sounds like youre contradicting yourself because youre saying you want outlook, but no bells and whistles. If bells and whistles are cameras and mp3 players, persons are starting to be pretty standard now. Rollover really isnt that vital unless youre one of persons public that go over your minutes occasionally. T mobile has the most comparable plans to Sprint. I suggest you get a Smart Phone or a blackberry.

Its also got a micro sd slot so the contacts should be syncable to and from computers, and you should be able to take them with you from then on. GSM carriers like cingular and t-mobile usually offer the option to store your contacts on the SIM, which sprint and verizon dont use. Losing all your contacts sucks, especially when you have to place them all back in manually.

Cingular has rollover; Sprint has night and weekend after 7. Syncing w/ Outlook and having a large phone book, you probably want a pda phone like a Treo or a Motorola Q. The 4920 is a Sanyo and had the best battery; you’re not going to be able to match it, especially w/ the Q. If you go with Verizon, they offer a free downloadable service that backs up your phonebook onto their website, and the website is syncable w/ Outlook. The program is completely wireless, and backs up everyday, so it will always stay current. Check out VerizonWireless.com/BackupAssistant. Backup Assistant works on most of their phones, so if that is one of the most vital things for you…
$ 40 gets you 450 minutes & boundless night/weekend starting at 9 & boundless Verizon-Verizon or $ 60 gets you 900 minutes & all the same.
