Can police trace a cell phone even if it is turned off?
I have been watching law enforcement shows, and I know that cops can track someone by their cell phone.
Can they still track someone if that cell phone is turned off completely?

No, because there is no signal going to the phone.

Cell phones are tracked by determining what cell towers they’re receiving their signal from. If the phone is off, it’s not receiving a signal so it can’t be tracked.

No because it is not emitting a signal. You have to be making a call to be tracked.

Yes, I read an article on this.
The only way to stop the tracking is to physically remove the battery.
