Should cell phones be banned for children below fourteen?

Should cell phones be banned for children below fourteen?

Considering the health issues involved, dont you feel children (below 14) should be banned from using mobile phones?

Answer by Summer & baby #2
No. My daughter is 13 – and I’m glad I bought her a phone. She calls me when cheering practice is letting out early, or if she needs picked up from a friends. It’s really reasonably clever.

Answer by Rileigh
not because of health issues but because of cell phone bills (my 13 yo sis racked hers up to $ 200 last month).

Answer by Robert D
Yes, but they should be allowed to carry one for emergencies only. I reckon it will be found that some hurt to hearing will result from constant use of cell phones. Socially they are doing some pretty weird things with them any way.

Answer by Dani V.
I don’t reckon so but I reckon that only prepaid phones should be allowed unless the kid is super responsible for their age and probably would have them use one of persons phones with the already programmed in numbers like home, parents work and emergency.

Answer by ABC Puppy
Absolutely not. Of course, I don’t reckon that 5 or 7 year olds should be walking around with phones, but preteens are ancient enough. My parents bought me a cell phone when we went into the city when I was 12, and they were so glad they did. It made it so they may maybe always reach me and feel safe about who i was with and where I was. If you can get a excellent, cheap plot, then it’s beyond doubt worth it. As for the health issues, I use a headset.

you all know that the microwaves produced from the cell phone can be harmfull to the brain still cell phones are not banned in many school. How to find a solution to this situation?

Answer by Josh W
Why wouldn’t it be safe, its rather safer, emergencies, see something suspicious, reckon of him breaking a leg, without calling you, and you dont even know it. I don’t reckon it should be resolved.

Answer by kenbgray
Only if they are taught to use it in an emergency and not for calling the friend who is permanent right next to them.

Answer by COLIN T
The microwave subject has been the matter of debate for ages and current thinking/research indicates that reasonable treatment presents no danger.

Should a small child carry one? Two ways of viewing that -
(a) It gives them a earnings of contacting you in an emergency.
(b) It makes them liable to assault/assault by the low lifes who see stealing a youngsters cell phone as a quick way of making a few bucks.

Answer by peter t
Not only would it be safe, It is a fantastic thought. Children can have it as a backup in case they are in distress. They can program their cell phone to talk to whomever they need at any agreed moment. This will reduce harm,
All the best
