Q&A: Can I keep my cell phone number if I change my carrier from Fido to Rogers?

I want to exchange my carrier from Fido to Rogers. I was wondering if I may maybe keep the same cell phone number but still be Rogers. My phone is prepaid/Pay as you go.

Yeah, as far as I know, if you’ve had service with Fido for more than 12 months you’re allowed to switch it to Rogers as a one time business without having an ECF if you take a new contract with Rogers and keep the account name and phone number the same. The ECF would be charged initially but you can have it waived after 30 days if you’re eligible.

If you haven’t had the service for a year, the ECF would apply, unless your friend takes it over in a transfer of responsibility, in which case you can’t keep your number….

This garden outside of the B1E Gallery on Glenwood Avenue in Rogers Park reminds me of community gardens in Alphabet City in NYC.

i know that Bell came out with SIM cards not too long ago and I went in to see if I may maybe activate an ancient rogers phone I had lying around and use it. They said that the phone is “GSM” and it wouldnt work with the Bell SIM cards. If I can “unlock” the phone, will I then be able to?
