any information on restrictions for verizon wireless cell phones?

my parents got a restriction feature on my cell phone. can they see the numbers that are calling me or messaging me all the time? or do they just able to block unwanted calls?

They can’t block calls coming into your phone but when their bill comes out they can see what numbers have been calling you and what you have been calling text as well even if they cant see what the text says. They might have just blocked downloads and not life able to use the internet part of the phone. If they call customer service they can question when was the last time a call came into your phone but not which number.

I’m pretty sure you can do this. I’m thinking about upgrading to a Droid with Verizon. Since the phone is already internet capable, will I be able to hook my mainframe up to it and use it as a modem to access the internet at no extra cost?

- The firmware
- The software
- The reception

The Droid does not have official tethering capability from Verizon- yet.. There are backdoor apps that you can use in the Market, but since they are 3rd party apps, you run the risk of Verizon seeing your treatment and charging you for it since you dont have a tethering-capable phone. Once Android 2.2 is unrestricted for the Droid (probably next month) then official tethering will be supported
