Am i eligible for a cell phone upgrade?

i have the Cingular/AT&T carrier, and i have had my Sony Ericsson W580i cellphone for about a year, maybe more now and i was wondering if i may maybe be eligible for a cell phone upgrade.

On most phones public are eligible for an upgrade in 2 years from the date you bought it or to make sure you can call your carrier and have them look up your account to check how many days you have left.

My new phone, the Helio Kickflip. Features include:

Downside: No Bluetooth, no Mac compatibility (yet)

So far I’m really pleased with the device and the service. I get full reception in my apartment, something I did not have with a Nokia/Cingular combo. (Helio uses the Sprint PCS network).

There will be some major upgrades to the Helio software in coming weeks, which I look forward to. This includes better functionality within some of the apps, as well as HTML web browsing (currently only supports WAP).

I upgraded my cell phone in May and I have verizon. I want to get the iPhone thats coming to verizon in January. Will i be able to upgrade. how long do i have to wait? thanks :]

I judge that Verizon will allow you to upgrade but generally if you wait until the end of your contract you get the phone at a better price. I have a feeling that they’re going to let a lot of public upgrade to the iPhone if and when they really get it.

it just depends on what price you paid for the phone your using now, like i upgraded in april and i have to wait 2 years to get another upgrade.
