I bought this for my sister because she lent me her Treo.

Background: My Japanese cell phone doesn’t work in North America, and I refuse to get one that does for US.00 per minute. My Japanese friends and I use our cell phones more for e-mail because it’s cheaper. And there’s more privacy on public moving. North Americans don’t seem to care who overhears. Boy am I glad the Japanese government forbids cell phone use from the moment that one steps through the airplane door!

I’m looking for really cheap used ancient-school telephones, like used office phones or similar. The facts have to be on the face plate and not on the handset. They don’t even have to have to work. Any suggestions?

Since you said that they don’t have to work.

Anyways, a excellent house to find these cheaply would doubtless be in a yard/garage sale since these people most of the time sell their things cheaply. If someone in your neighborhood has them then you don’t even have to travel far.

Another house everywhere you might be able to find phones like this would be at a flea promote. Here you will find many of these type of phones for a low price. One time I found many office phones and a box full of 1990ish cell phones.

The first option would doubtless be the best since you doubtless don’t have to go too far. I didn’t even want to mention ebay since there are shipping costs involved and this might drive the price of the phones up.
