Q&A: Is it a good idea to buy a refurbished cell phone?

I was looking at some refurbished cell phones on ebay and was wondering if it would be a safe hold.

Iv had friends buy refurbished phones off ebay and they say the phones wher pretty excellent and nevr complaind about them. they were in pretty excellent condition too.

Only buy them directly from the site, such as At&t or Alltel.
I bought a refurbished Sony Ericsson Walkman phone for $ 100, and there were no problems at all with it.

Buy refurbished phones from the supplies and not from eBay.

If I get a refurbished cell phone will there be any problems with it?
Will it be scratched at all?
Will there be any hardware/software problems?

I don’t want to get a refurbished phone and find the headphone jack doesn’t work, or the OS is a small slow because of a bug in it.

Refurbished may maybe mean a lot of things, scratched case, fuzzy screen, mic doesnt work. The isue that was causing to be refurbished has been fixed and tested. It may have just been scratched and the faceplate replaced.

Bottom line : it’s a gamble, just get it from a place with a excellent restore policy,
