You don’t necessarily have to hold an unlocked phone. You can always hold a locked phone and have it unlocked. That is what I did. I bought a T-Mobile G1 and got it unlocked by http://www.cellphoneunlock.net. Now I’m using it with my AT&T phone plot. Haven’t had any problems since unlocking it.

simply login to your gmail from computer and do a reset and you are excellent to go
