Why do some cell phone stores sell cheaper cell phones than others?

At this mall close to my home, there are four T-Mobile supplies; 2 actual supplies, and 2 stands/kiosts. The business is, usually cell phones like blackberries and sidekicks sell for $ 100 – $ 200 with a plot, but for one of the stands, you can get a blackberry pearl for free, or a sidekick 50% off, etc. depending on a credit check. They usually have deals like “all phones free (except 50% off data phones) with plot” and stuff.

So my question is, why is this stand so different from the additional supplies? Is it legit?

its legit,
its just that the phones that are “free” require you to sign a four year contract with that provider, when the phones that have a higher price, your able to buy alone with no contract.
also, buying the phone at a lower price at a kiosk is risky because you will probably end up paying more over the four years then you would to just buy the phone and contract honest out at the provider.

It is a gimmick to make you sign a contract…it’s like the Dodge deal right now…Buy our cars for 20 grand and we will make gas cheap for you…You get what you want and they get money to service your phone.

most of the time yes. it may maybe be refurbished phones that you are getting or discontinued models. also t-mobile will pay that store for each phone that they sell. they may money off the price so that they may sell more phone so they make more money.

I’m plotting to make a record on youtube, and I want to get a fake cell phone. You know persons ones that cell phones supplies place on show, but they don’t really work? Should I just go to a store and question about them?

Answer by brandis08

On your community Freecycle post a wanted ad for a non-working cell phone. If not there, try Craigslist.

LAS VEGAS – Caught on camera, a mob of young public bombarded the City Stop convenience store on Sunset Road and Pecos Road and stole 0 in merchandise. “It became a feeding frenzy,” said City Stop owner Jon Athey. “They were in the store for three minutes and 30 seconds… It’s a pretty scary business.” Athey says the crowd darted in and snatched numerous items from the store. “Beer to jerky to candy bars to soda, whatever hit their fancy… potato chips,” he said. Athey says this tactic is known as a “swarm”. After 42 years in the convenience store business, Athey says this crime stands out. “This is the largest one I’ve ever seen,” he said. If you walk into a convenience store, you expect every go to be recorded on camera. Surveillance cameras in every direction, but, didn’t stop this crew. “Now, you’re seeing droves swarming in the front doors – right here – as quick as they can come in,” Athey said as he watched the surveillance record. “You can see them milling around by the beer doors. Now, you’re going to see them start selecting harvest they’re putting in their coat pockets. They’re putting it down their pants.” The crowd started walking out without paying, only to restore. “Here it is, two minutes into the deal. They’re all coming back for seconds,” Athey said. Seconds later, they grabbed more beer and the clerk’s cell phone. They then rushed back out the door. “We were blessed nobody was hurt,” Athey said. Athey says the clerk followed his training.
