Unlikely. The ETF is to prevent carriers from losing money on subsidized phones.

I think is not true, cause Obama is really cool and he cares for US citizens but, i think that he’d be more interested in helping on other stuff rather than cell phone plans,,, like feeding poor people, giving jobs to the ones who dont have, giving justice to those who deserve it….Priorities. And as USA ‘s situation is..well, the way it is.. there might be too many things on his list before this..huge and so important situation.

I was told that if you are on welfare you can get a cell phone for free and 70 mint. a month. And this is called the Obama phone . If this is true can some one give me some intelligence feed back, because this sounds like crap. I work full time and I cant get a cell phone. I thought they were consider a luxury.

I never heard of the Obama Phone program, but there is an Obama Car program. If you make less than 100k a year, you can get a free car and $ 100 a month in free gas.

Welfare recipients, and others, can receive a free cell phone, but the program is not funded by the government or taxpayer money, as the e-mail alleges. And it's hardly new.
