Q&A: Why is there a small dash on the key 5 of all cell phones?

if your talking about a raised dash or dot that is to let you find the center button so you can dial without looking…. feel your keyboard on the j and f keys, persons let you know when your hands are in the right place to type……

I’m not sure but I heard it’s because of blind public, if they can find the number 5 they are in the middle of all the buttons.

My office has been charitable out my personal cell phone number for business use. It seems to me that this is inappropriate. If I were to deal with my employer about it, would I appear petty?

No. Small business owners are well-known for chiseling their employees. Question if you can place the phone bills on an expense account.

It may appear petty, but if the work use is causing you to pay a higher bill, you have every right to request reimbursement. If the business aspect is large enough, the company should issue you a phone or pay your entire bill.

That is very inappropriate. I would deal with your boss and tell him that if he wants to give out your cell number then he should hold you a cell phone for company use, that your phone is personnel and that it is inappropriate for the company to give out your personnel number

I agree with Cheryl. Highly unprofessional and inappropriate. Tell your boss to stop charitable out your personal cell phone number or you will have it disconnected. They can get you a cell if it’s required. Businesses get deep discounts on cell phone plot buys. The business may be small, but is still a place of business, not a dorm room.

No, you are paying for their minutes! Question for a business cell phone and tell the receptionist to stop charitable out your personal cell phone number. (I would take it off her directory)

It wouldn’t hurt to bring in that huge cell phone bill to contend your point and get them to expense all persons charges!
