I have a new RAZR V3c cell phone that is not branded by any company on any the phone or in the software.

When you press *6 and *2 you get Sprint PCS customer service, but when I give them the ESN # and the DEC #, they state that the phone is not listed as one of theirs.

Is there anything, additional than calling all the companies that use the CDMA network, that I can do to determine whose cellular network this phone can be activated on?

thanks in advance

well try putting the the small card (forget wat u call it but it can store numbers and ur phone info) in the phone and try if u can call

Since I work for Sprint I can tell you that only Sprint and Verizon carry CDMA service…….but that is why they brand their phones, if you don’t see a Sprint Logo on the phone its definately not Sprint. I would go ahead and try Verizon but as I mentioned before both Sprint and Verizon brand their phones…..you should really just try to go to a Verizon store and question them if they can connect it for you…if they say no then I reckon they give out the Moto RAZR for free….GOOD LUCK

Not sure why the Sprint rep above doesn’t know about the additional CDMA carriers, like Alltel and USCellular. The phone may maybe also be from Canadian carriers like Bell Mobility and Telus.

Any way, Sprint PCS was very late to the ball with the hit phone, the RAZR. They were trying to sell a Samsung phone that was a reckon knock-off, but it just didn’t work, so they added the RAZR to their lineup late. That earnings the most likely carrier of a CDMA RAZR is Verizon (but it may maybe be Sprint, Alltel, USCellular, Bell, or Telus).

Ignore the comment about putting in the “card thingy” because that is a SIM card, and applies only to GSM phones.

But all that said, I reckon most of the mentioned carriers would be willing to offer you service on the phone you have if you any called them up (from a landline) or took it to a store. They all offer that model phone, and they are all CDMA carriers which use the same frequencies, so no conundrum.
