Friday May 13th, my old cell phone had a deadly encounter with the habitat of a frog fatale … so I had to get me a new phone. Of course I had to try the camera. So, on the way home, sitting in the passenger’s seat, I made this shot (and this one and this one).

Press L to see on black (much better).

I am moving to the us from europe and am getting a new phone that i also will use in europe still some. Are there any other companys or is that it?

Yeap A T&T and T-Mobile are the only two GSM network here in the United States that uses sim cards on their phones. If you are originally from Europe and will be living here in the United States, I suggest you get a phone here in the United States that is compatible in Europe as well. You can always buy a unlock cell phone which would work in both areas.

AT&T (which absorbed Cingular) and T-mobile are the two 400-pound gorillas in GSM/UMTS services here in the US.

However, there are dozens of smaller operators ranging from 5 pound chimps to 200 pound orangutangs.

Find them here.

This link will give you coverage maps and other services.

Stay away from Verizon and Sprint – they use CDMA which only works in N. America (and it bites anyway).
