Q&A: I live in USA I want to call my wife in Iraq, is there any unlimited plans for VOIP to her cell phone?

Is there any unlimited plans for VOIP “voice over internet phone” to her cell phone? I need only a constant monthly payment.

I found a website that’s gonna charge me 30 cents for each call I make to here but it will not charge me for the call duration!!! Cool, but not cool enough.

Not that I know of, though, if she’s in the military, they may be able to help you obtain some form of discount.

You can get Skype from zdnet.com, but she also needs access to the internet (pc) it is free and once the both of you have downloaded the program onto your pc, you have to get headsets.

Sony is in the process of making cellphones that works with VOIP.

I doubt you can do it to her cell phone. I would reccomend that you both sign up for SKYPE at: http://www.skype.com
..you can then talk to each other for free from your computer to her computer (assuming she has one connected to the internet).
You can use a headset and microphone or even get a Skype compatible VOIP phone (Walmart even sells them for around $ 25.00) or you can get one here for about $ 15.00:

I have a US verizonwireless mobile and am moving to Nepal for 12-15 months. I’d like to transfer the digit to a VOIP service (skype would be my choice) while I’m gone, so that I can continue by the digit and keep it for when I return. Is this possible?
