With the massive quantity of cell phones and other related devices,
wouldn’t it have been better if these devices had their own designated
area code facts? Each so may being, certain areas all around
the country have to change their area codes because they run out
of phone facts. Also, cell phone companies have been renowned
to buy thousands of phone facts in blocks at a time, thus
depleting facts even more for area residents, companies,
businesses,etc.
Answer by Wireless Buddy
The area code is determined by everywhere the phone is “based”. Cell phones do have their own exchanges though. This is also represented by everywhere it is based. For example, in my area the exchange 797 is owned by Verizon Wireless, so you will never see a landline in my area by 797.
