i need help editing my essay on The Great Gatsby?

i had to write an essay on materialism in The Fantastic Gatsby and how i am materialistic. Also on how society now is materialistic.
For the most part i am done just have to end my last paragraph. i need so help editing it and finding errors. If you also have an thought or something that will make it better, feel free to add in.

Nearly everyone in the novel "The Fantastic Gatsby" takes fantastic pride in there material goods. From Tom with his extravagant cars, to Daisy who choose money over like but when it comes to Gatsby I feel he's takes it to a new level. For example, when he says "Absolutely real – have pages and everything. I thought they'd be a nice durable cardboard. Matter of fact, they're absolutely real…" This is when Gatsby and Nick meet for the first time, Gatsby discussion about how his books are real and durable. What would he need a durable book for? The only reason he bought those books were because of his materialistic values in small things. He also has gold plated toilet fixtures and a like, gaudy, show house toped off with a gorgeous car. Gatsby tries to lure daisy back by his like parties, throwing shirt after shirt in front of her, and a large home but he doesn't realize that no matter how much money he has it will never change. Money and wealth cant always bring happiness.
I would consider for myself materialistic to a certain existent. Through the past year or so I have really learned the value of a dollar. Growing up I was an only child which meant that I got whatever I wanted but when it came time to getting a job I learned how quick that paycheck goes. You realize that the money you made that week can only buy you a pair of pants and possibly some shoes. I value my prosecutions very much like my phone, Ipod, and my computer. Not only because they help me pass time but because its my money that bought them. I may have had to spend 2 or 3 weeks working just to buy it, which makes it mean that much more to me. I don't really spend my money on clothes, shoes and what not but rather most of my money goes to food. Spending large quantity of money on food can still be materialistic, so there for I feel that I still play a role in this materialistic world.
Now society is under presser to having the nicest cars, largest TVs, and name-brand clothes. We don't have to worry about "if we ca afford it" because all we have to do is slide that credit card. Credit cards like many other things allows us to buy what we want now and pay it off later. Some people go out and get loans for houses that are beyond their needs and financial ability. Their goal in life is the growth of “stuff”. They believe the more they have, the more they am worth. We go out and work longer hours and or even get a second job, when we could be spend time with are families. Even people on welfare who only have enough money for the bare assents like clothes, food, and shelter are still materialistic. They spend the small money they have on the latest cell phone, name brand clothes, and the newest pair of Jordan's. We as a society need to realize that this is not health for the economy, the more debt we get in the higher chances bankruptcy. We need to change are ways and go back to the things that matter most like family.
Materialism have be converted into the way of life. It started in the 1920's were people were making a fortune of the stock promote and continues on till this day. The higher are salaries are the more we spend. We find are selves export unnecessary thing. Take Gatsby for an example he buys a swimming pool that he doesn't use and clothes that look the same.

Very excellent essay. I agree that all this debt people are getting into is ruining our economy.
You have a lotttt of spelling errors, check those on Word Doc. possibly a few grammar problems?
And possibly add a conclusion…lol
But this is a really excellent essay other than that, gets to the point.
I’m also researching matieralism for my fantastic gatsby paper, but you’ve got it simple, I can’t equate, I have to do a friggin load of research in the books to help lol. Like vs. Money and materialism plus a small mortality. -___- haha
Isn’t Fantastic Gatsby such a wonderful book? -cough-

Okay, each time my cell phone plot comes up for renewal it is right as the new phones are coming out. I then place off export one in anticipation of they all hit the promote a few months later. So now trying to choose if I should place it off again. I like Verizon. I do not drop calls! I have a signal all the time. That is unlike the service I got from Sprint for being. I have a lot of friends with i-phones. They do like the phone but they all nag about the service. One friend has distress with her calls dropping each time she is on her phone. I don’t want to change to that! So what is the next best thing with Verizon. My husband has the Blackberry Storm. He likes it okay but I don’t. I have used it a lot and am not pleased. I was considering the Blackberry Tour in anticipation of the Droid came out. And now the Google phone? Or is there another phone coming out at the show from Verizon that I should wait on? I am SO ready to change phones but I can wait a few months.
