cell phones for soldiers question?

cell phones for soldiers question?

if you dont know wat cell phones for soldiers is, go away or look it up then answer this question.

they say place the phone in the bag then drop it in the mailbox. uhhh. i reckon theres a weight limit for mailboxes. i reckon u r not supposed to place anything in there over 1 lb. i reckon cellphones weigh about over 1 lb.

even if not- putting an electronic object in a bag in the mailbox- wont that scare the mailman? they might reckon its a bomb or something. i know i would. how would anyone know that it ISNT a bomb?

A cell-phone weighs nowhere near 1lb, so that isn’t a conundrum. Just putting a phone in a box and mailing it seems weird, but since it’s going to be sent abroad, you’re going to have to write a customs declaration on it anyway, which means it would say on the box what the content is, so I don’t reckon that would be a conundrum.

Teens have already received cell phones to place in the box!

" Landa", " Teen Vista", 2010, "Cell Phones for Soldiers",

they are only going to california for 10 days, but they heard there are no showers so do you reckon there will be electricity to charge their phones, or are they even allowed to bring them with?

Answer by lconnor65
Depends on his command. It might not be a excellent thought. Reception will doubtless be crappy and it will be dusty out there.

No showers? Build a field shower. And pack plenty of baby wipes.

I agree with Iconnor. If the house in Cali they are going to is the same house I’ve been (Camp Piojo, which is just outside Ft. Seeker Liggett) then if allowed to take a cell phone, they might find service isn’t even available out there. The only folks who got service out there were those who had Verizon. I have Sprint and none of us with Sprint coudl get a signal.

Showers: depends on which FOB they go to. At Camp Piojo, there were portable shower trailors, but they didn’t always work. There are backyard hoses for you to fill up a bucket and do your thing. Lots of us did that, and also used for washing clothes n towels n stuff. At least there were Port-o-Potties lol

Desert= no electricity. At least if he’s in the Marines, when they mean field schooling the really do *mean* it. My husband is now out in the CA desert somewhere schooling and does not have his cell phone. So, even your guy can bring his cell phone with him its liable that a) there’s no service b) he has no time to call you-depending on what he’s doing c) he’d just break it anyhow with all the crap they have to carry in their packs.
Basically, I wouldn’t count on it.

If there’s some sort of emergency on your end call the Red Cross and they’ll get you in touch with him. Otherwise, no news=excellent news. It’s just 10 days.
